March Offers Cheapest Ski Holiday Weeks of 24-25 Season

Ski holiday companies are highlighting the latter half of March 2025 as currently offering the best ski holiday prices of the 24-25 season.

With the Easter weekend falling late this year (19-21 April) it means that there are almost no school holidays in March across Europe. Most schools don’t break up until April 4th this year.

March offering better value than January, which has traditionally offered the cheapest weeks of the year for many decades, is a relatively new development that has been building over several season. More and more skiers have been choosing January, apparently as a better bet for snow certainty than December and lower prices and less crowding than Christmas/New Year weeks.

“The second part of March are going to be the best value weeks of the whole season. January is unusually busier than normal so not a huge amount of availability left,” confirmed Xavier Schouller, boss of ski holiday companies Peak Retreats and The Ski Collection.

Usually, most ski areas are fully open through the month after snow levels have built up through the winter so the mix of snow, sunshine and fewer skiers on the slope can be a winning combination.

There’s also usually a relaxed atmosphere in resort with many ski areas running music festivals or other springtime celebrations.

“The end of March is currently the best priced time to ski this winter. We’re advising the bargain hunters who want to ski for the best possible price to pick either of the last two weeks in March,” confirmed Richard Sinclair of ski holiday travel agency SNO.co.uk who added, “We’re seeing the biggest discounts are in Italy, with Cervinia and Sauze d’Oulx both seeing March ski holidays as low as half price. A genuine buy-one-get-one-free ski holiday!”

Jack Bolus, spokesperson for ski holiday company Sunweb agreed, “For anyone planning to book a last-minute trip for the end of the season, our best value packages can be found the last two weeks of March. This is due to the timing of the Easter break this year alongside the late spring holidays in Europe. The cost of a lift pass is included in all Sunweb ski holidays, while ski hire is also covered with all flights packages booked to France, meaning any end of season holidaymakers will receive the best value for money, and most hassle-free experience possible.”

Ski holiday agency Iglu Ski have narrowed the date choice further and reports the very lowest price weeks of the season include departures on March 22nd and March 23rd. Specifying a few specific resort choices, Simon McIntyre, Managing Director at Iglu Ski comments,

“Prices are well discounted that week to Zell am See in Austria and Arinsal in Andorra, as well as to lesser-known French resorts of Auris en Oisans and Valloire.”

Ski Beat’s two cheapest ski chalet holidays this season are departing on 22nd March,” agreed the chalet holiday specialist’s Laura Hazell, adding,

“Ski Beat has a week’s catered ski chalet holiday in halet Perdrix, La Rosiere, for £767 per person, based on travel by train or self-drive, and include a private chalet host to take care of the chalet and the guests, and prepare cooked breakfast, afternoon tea with home-made cakes and freshly prepared three course evening meals with wine. The holiday itself is identical to travelling high season, apart from the fact that prices are around half, and skiers can expect less crowded slopes, longer hours of daylight, kinder weather, and a more relaxed atmosphere in the resort as winter turns to spring.”
