The world’s top 25 male and female athletes compete for the crystal balls in the various disciplines. Starting with Men’s and Women’s Downhills on 16 March. The event is as the rehearsal for the World Championships in February 2017.
17–19, Innovation in the Snow, Pas de la Casa, Andorra
An all-new festival for the infamous party resort in the Pyrenees. Organised by DnB events, Festival pre-parties will run between 5pm and 9pm in a dedicated ski bar and restaurant each evening with the main event taking place in a special Igloo Dome.
18 Mar–17 Apr, Spring Fever Festival, Breckenridge, Colorado
The largest spring skiing party in the Rocky Mountain region includes free concerts. The fun continues with a series of signature events including Easter family festivities, the Spring Fever Beer Festival and competitions in Breck’s award-winning Freeway and Park Lane terrain parks.
26 BodeFest, Cannon Mountain, New Hampshire, USA
The annual fund-raising event is hosted by ski great Bode Miller and his family, who set up a charity called the Turtle Ridge Foundation in conjunction with Cannon to help develop adaptive and youth sport in the local area. Events include a Kid’s “Ski with Bode” Run.

Bringing together adventurers, explorers and enthusiasts to share tales and display their work through film, photography and art, the festival is run by volunteers with the full support and involvement of the town of Chamonix.

The family fun race around the world’s biggest ski area is now the world’s largest gathering of amateur skiers and returns for 2016. Start from one of the area’s resorts and tackle original and fun challenges as you race around, then tackle the huge Savoyard buffet.
3–10, The BRITS , Laax, Switzerland
The British Snowboard and Freeski Championships (The BRITS) brings together everyone from seasoned pros, budding amateurs and first-timers, pushing our professional athletes while retaining an open-door policy for anyone wishing to give it a go.
4–9, Snowbombing, Mayrhofen, Austria
The Prodigy, Jungle, Netsky, Bastille and Craig David will headline this year’s self-styled “world’s No.1 music festival on snow”. During the festival itself, gigs are staged in Mayrhofen’s plethora of bars and clubs as well as at specially created locations on the mountains and in the forest.
8–10, New Orleans Meets Snow Festival, St Anton am Arlberg, Austria
Cool funk and blues rhythms will be heard at live concerts on the village streets and up on the slopes. Highlights include “Blues Night” on Saturday evening, with the Markus Linder Blues Band and star guest Les Getrex, ex-guitarist from R&B legend, Fats Domino, from New Orleans.
8–10, 15–17, Verbier Impulse Music and Ski Festival, Switzerland
Verbier’s brand new music- and sports-oriented event runs over successive long weekends and incorporates the famous Verbier High Five by Carlsberg, which attracts some of the world’s best winter-sports stars, with music including gigs by TEXAS and a “surprise guest”
