Italian ski resort Livigno is the latest to add electric car chargers.
The centre has teamed up with energy company Repower, to install the fast charging stations which supply 22 kW of electricity.
Open for use by locals and tourists alike the charging points are located in the carpark of the Aquagranda center, in Via Isola in downtown Livigno, at Plaza Placheda and at both the Laghetto Bork and Eira Pass parking areas.
In addition to the car charging stations the resort is also unveiling six charging stations for e-Bikes.
“I believe that Livigno can become the first smart city in the Alps,” said Remo Galli, Deputy Mayor of Livigno, adding, “We are very happy to have completed this project; electric mobility is the future in terms of transport and we wanted to make the town move in a green direction.”
To launch the service the charging points will operate free of charge until December.
