Like most of the Western Alps Les Arcs has seen exceptional weather over the past week.
Storm Eleanor brought gale force winds, very heavy snow and even rain at times which led to road and ski slope closures on Wednesday and Thursday last week.
The weekend was largely clear, thankfully, for transfers but with a base up to 330cm (11 feet) on upper slopes, much of it new, wind blasted snow, the avalanche danger evel is on maximum off piste.
There’s been more snow since the weekend, another 30cm or so, but thankfully not so much as other areas a little further west and south, so many runs and lifts have now re-opened and the rest of the week is looking cold and clear so hopefully things should continue to improve and the base already built up will last Les Arcs through through to the end of the season.
