Les 2 Alpes is the latest ski area to unveil a high altitude platform for those with a head-for-heights to enjoy, and those who suffer from high anxiety to pluck up the courage to venture on to, or just ignore.
The new ‘Skywalk’ is located at the Belvedere des Ecrins at the top of the resort’s glacier ski area, 3,400 metres above sea level (the Soreiller summit).
The Skywalk is seven metres long and stretches out above the Vallée de la Selle, with is 1,400m (nearly a mile) vertical drop straight down below you.
If you don’t look down you can focus on the magnificent Ecrins mountain range straight in front of you instead.
“You’ll be blown away by the unique 360° views!” a resort spokesperson assures us.
The Belvedere des Ecrins is free to access.
