The Austrian ski resort of Lech, with sponsorship from Kastle skis, will stage their third Dirndl ski day next Saturday, 7 April 2018.
The end-of-season event has become so popular that participation is limited to a maximum of 300 skiers and boarders dressed in the traditional Austrian dresses.
The day kicks off at Lech Schlegelkopf with a mass ski down of all the skiers wearing dirndls, this year men in lederhosen are also welcome to take part.
Kastle’s 2018-19 skis will be available to test on the day and besides skiing there’s a Kässpätzle party with live music in the Schneggarei.
Other Austrian ski areas are also organising ‘Dirndl Days’ but Lech believes theirs is the largest.
