A ski chalet above Cervinia with views from the Italian side of the Matterhorn, has gone on sale priced at €24m with luxury property agents Savills.
La Fenice was originally stone-built in 1936 but was ‘discovered’ by John Harrison, a former partner at a London-based finance house, as a derelict building when skiing in the region in 2015. After purchasing the ‘ruin’ Mr Harrison spent five years having it renovated.
The property, just over the border from Zermatt and connected to the famous Swiss resorts by ski slopes as well as by gondola and cable car lifts providing access to year-round skiing, offers accommodation over six floors with lift access and includes seven en-suite bedrooms, some with private balconies. The building has its own spa with indoor pool, Hammam and treatment rooms, an outdoor Jacuzzi with Matterhorn views, a gym and multimedia room, ski room, wine cellar and helipad.
