The AJ Bell Crans-Montana Marathon is a brand new snow sports event that will be brought to Switzerland by youth charity Snow-Camp this winter season.

Two years after their last fundraising event took place in the mountains, Snow-Camp have announced they will be bringing a new team charity event to the famous Swiss resort of Crans-Montana in 2022.

The AJ Bell Crans-Montana Marathon will take place from Thursday 3rd – Sunday 6th February 2022 and will see teams of four compete in a series of winter sports challenges and activities across two highly entertaining, action-packed days.

Crans-Montana has a great history of hosting exceptional ski racing events amid some of Europe’s most spectacular scenery, and the AJ Bell Crans-Montana Marathon looks set to be no different. Activities will include ski orienteering, laser biathlon, snow-shoe relay, parallel slalom racing and a team distance challenge.

With stunning scenery and a history of hosting ski racing events the Swiss mountain villages are a fantastic location for the team snow sports event

As part of the event, competitors will raise funds for youth charity Snow-Camp, whose mission is to give young people from inner-city communities across the UK positive futures through snowsports. With fundraising at the core of the Marathon, participants are asked to meet a fundraising target of £1,000, to help provide inner-city children with the opportunities to participate in Snow-Camp’s snowsports based youth training and vocational programmes.

Throughout the Marathon, teams will compete for two awards, Top Fundraisers and Overall Winners, the latter awarded to the team that wins the most activities.

A weekend of strategy, teamwork, fun and raising money for a good cause in one of Europe’s top ski resorts? Sounds right up our street!

The AJ Bell Crans-Montana Marathon 2022 will be run in association with the City Ski Championships. Participants from both events will have opportunities to meet, network and compete against each other in the team distance challenge, so it’s sure to be an incredibly fun and competitive experience.

Travel and accommodation is not included in the registration fee, but is available from Snow-Camp’s partners Momentum Ski, who are the City Ski Championship organisers and have some fantastic offers available.
