A new indoor snowpark being built at a shopping mall in Oman’s capital, Muscat, should be open for business in early 2017.
“The Snow Park Palm Mall represents a world-first new-generation real snow and ice amusement park,” said Kees Albers of Dutch company Unlimited Snow. The new centre’s cold zone is divided over two levels and comprises numerous snow and ice fun rides and attractions. Bumper Cars on Ice will be a major attraction. These are electric battery-operated inflatable bumper cars especially developed for use on ice and are suitable for all ages, enabling the whole family to participate. Extra fun is guaranteed because the bumper cars slide on the ice after a bump.
They are also equipped with laser guns, so people can try to hit targets on other cars and collect points which are shown on the screen. Using a large ball and two goals, it is also possible for two teams to play bumper-car ice hockey. No skiing or boarding is planned, but there will be a number of straight and curved tubing and toboggan slopes. There will be both single and special double tubes so that parents can take a small child on their lap. The starting platform for all of these slides will be reached by a convenient conveyor-belt lift.
