Indoor Snow Coming To TurkeyTurkey is one of the ‘happening’ winter sports nations of the 21st century with the country’s government starting 2010 by announcing plans to open dozens of conventional ski areas in the East of the country.

Already home to artificial surface ski centres in Istanbul, the country’s first indoor snow centre will open in the Deepo Mall, also in the capital, in December. Snow for the 100m long, 10m wide slope is being produced by British company Acer Snowmec (www.acersnowmec.com), the team behind many of the world’s leading indoor snow centres of the past 20 years, including Ski Dubai.
The Turkish centre’s 3000sqm snow area has a heavily themed winter wonderland scene and several slides as well as bridges and rockwork.
