The festival held early October in Annecy France marks the beginning of the winter season. It brings together pro riders from all over the world, the industry’s best brands, and a growing community always eager to preview the latest production.
Outdoor Activities
This was not only about being confined in dark rooms!
In the village, open to all, you could have a go on the big air bag, try new tricks on the trampolines or even climbing.

Ski & Gear Trends 2016
The ski industry met to exhibit the latest gear trends. Among others, a large part was dedicated to big mountain equipment.

Movies
55 movies were screened over the three days. The whole cast met a packed audience at each screening. My advice would be to plan ahead if you want to attend the movies premieres – saves you hours of queueing.
The High Five festival really treated it’s audience well, pop corn, sweets, pairs of skis, ski outfits, everyone had a chance to leave with hands full of gifts – awesome.

Spotted
Seems the whole ski scene is in Annecy this weekend! Top athletes like Sage Cattabriga-Alosa, Victor Delerue, Henrik Harlaut, Phil Casabon, Chris Logan, Parker White…
Autograph sessions beat all records, massive crowds of fans gathered to get a signature of their favourite riders. Candide Thovex holds the record with a two hours session!

The High Five Festival was not totally ski-centric, but responding to popular demand also had screenings dedicated to skateboarding and snowboarding so all types of riding were catered for.

That’s a wrap for this second edition! More to come next year, I’ve been told an urban big air is being planned…The High Five Festival is certainly on the right track to become one of the biggest ski events!
