Tignes is one of only two French ski areas open for snowsports over Halloween weekend (29-30 October) and this year they’ve announced plans to make it a bit more thrilling.
Amateur horror fans can look forward to a weekend of shivers and shakes including scary movies, a crispy insect and larvae aperitif and a promised blood red pool party (yes, they’re going to dye the swimming pool’s water…).
Tignes is fairly isolated 2100m up in the French Alps so is quite a good location if you want to feel scared for fun.
The weekend package costs from €69 per person which includes accommodation on the Saturday night in a self-catered apartment for four people, access to the underground horror entertainment, entry to the pool party and entry to Le Lagon pool complex. Or for 19 Euros more (€88) you also get a full day ski pass on the Saturday.
If a weekend of flights in an isolated snow resort isn’t for you, there is a second choice in the French Alps that weekend. Les 2 Alpes completes its annual end of October special pre-season opening week with the High Test Decathlon, also on the 29th and 30th October. This mini-festival celebrates the opening of the glacier with equipment tests, meet-and-greets with ski area professionals and contests for all the family.
