A few days before its initial opening in November, Val Thorens decided to delay the season kick-off by a week due to big snowfalls forecast which were more likely to make access to the resort difficult.
Regardless of the disappointment this decision was to all the skiers wanting to clip on their skis, security prevailed. But only for a better start !
After the warm and dry November, which left the Alps with little snow, Nature has been generous and provided an extra 80 cm of very welcomed fresh snow the day before the opening.
Rob Stewart was in Val Thorens and tells us of the fantastic snow conditions. Blue bird sky and fresh snow, the best we could have asked for.
