Volkl Yumi 2018 Ski Review

Fun, supportive and versatile, the Volkl Yumi 2018 would be a very good choice for a skier looking to buy their first ski this season!

The 2018 Volkl Yumi is a very different ski compared to previous seasons. This year it is much stiffer with the addition of a metal laminate making it much more responsive and grippy. Lying above the wood core, this band of titanal allows the ski to feel highly energetic while maintaining a good edge grip and level of smooth stability.

This is a higher performance all mountain ski that if you stay on top of you’ll be rewarded!

The 84mm waist is thin enough to really relish carving turns on piste while being just wide enough to float well across any powder you might encounter. The tip and tail rocker make it a lot of fun across varying terrains. Its is a nice, versatile ski, happily allowing the skier to travel at their own pace, to wherever on the mountain they wish.

The Volkl Yumi also offers a soft flex and easy turn initiation, making it an ideal first Ski to buy. It suits less aggressive skiers who like a ski to support and encourage them but not push them too far.

This is a great beginner to lower intermediate ski that is easy and forgiving to ride. If it’s your first time buying and you want a ski that will develop with you, the Volkl Yumi 2018 is a great choice.

Volkl Yumi 2018 Ski Review

It is stable and secure enough that you can feel confident on terrains you may not be as experienced with. It is also good enough as a piste ski that you can keep advancing your piste skills while knowing you have the ability to head off the beaten track if you so wish.
