Back

The Volkl 100Eight W is a very wide-waisted ski that is surprisingly agile and provides a lot of fun across all areas of the mountain.

Initially, we were a bit apprehensive about this ski due to its exceptionally wide waist. However, we will most happily admit we were wrong. We totally loved the Volkl 100Eight W and by the end of the day, we were really sad to let it go!

It’s a great big mountain ski, which, perhaps unsurprisingly thanks to the 108mm waist, absolutely shines when it comes to powder performance. With a full rocker profile and moderate tip and tail taper, it floats like a dream across powder, while the addition of carbon stringers keep it powerful and energetic when it comes to deeper, tougher snow. 3D Fibreglass Technology keeps this ski snappy and energetic so that when short turns are needed, the Volkl 100Eight W will happily oblige.

The Volkl full rocker profile also keeps this ski impressive on piste. It gives great edge contact that keeps you stable throughout your turns, with a lovely edge to edge smoothness that makes groomed runs a lot of fun.

Even at high speeds, it feels incredibly stable and is surprisingly easy to turn. Simply pop the Ski on an edge and away it goes. Almost effortless, this ease of turning gives you the confidence to push yourself if you are a skier looking to develop your skills this year. The Volkl 100Eight W keeps the groomed runs feeling just as fun as the off piste playground.
