Sub Zero Merino Baselayers

British brand Sub Zero has launched an all new range of base layers for the coming ski season incorporating merino wool yarn sourced from the mountains of Spain.

Better news still, by streamlining the manufacturing process thanks to a new technique the company has been able to bring prices down by a quarter.

Sub Zero had built a reputation over many years for its synthetic layers, which are among the top performing baselayers available, but with the growth in popularity of natural fibres, the company decided to launch its Merino range.

As well as being anti-bacterial and odour resistant, Merino wool is also hydroscopic, which means it absorbs sweat and transports it away from the body while at the same time repelling moisture from the outside and in InTheSnow tests we found the base layers were amongst the best we’ve tested – keeping our tester dry and toasty warm.

Sub Zero’s Merino wool base are manufactured on state-of-the-art knitting machines that directly create entire three-dimensional garments without the need for any finishing they tell us. The garment that drops off the machine is ready to be worn straight away and that seamless construction results in a comfortable fit.

There are specific men’s and women’s designs. The men’s has a contoured drop back and the women’s a ribbed bust support, while both are long in the body to prevent rucking and feature a low profile neck.

Also available in the Sub Zero Merino range are unisex Bloo John thermal leggings and super-soft seamless gloves.

Machine washable available in sizes S-XL; women’s XS-L; available in black and pink with an RRP of  £59.99 long-sleeved tops, £54.99 leggings and gloves £24.99
