When at the massive winter tradeshow, ISPO Munich, checking out the latest gear innovations, one product caught my attention amongst all the others. This biodegradable layer from Picture Clothing is one of their most important products in next year’s range and is definitely a standout piece.
With an ever-growing range, the French brand is already well known for its commitment to sustainable development, with organic, recycled & bio-sourced products. Never short of innovation, they pushed it even further for Winter 2018/19.
This new layer was created with a global vision of the products’ life cycle : design, raw materials, confection, use, second life and end of life.
After five years of research, they created the world’s first biodegradable polyamide 6.6 yarn: Amni Soul Eco ®.
The Biodegradable Layer is made of 37% WOOL, 63% POLYAMIDE AMNI SOUL ECO ®. While other fibres need decades to break down in landfills, it takes less than three years for the polyamide 6.6 yarn Amni Soul Eco ® to disappear from the planet.
In addition to a high environmental value, Amni Soul Eco® offers all of the benefits expected from a polyamide yarn: soft touch, comfort, breathability, moisture management, easy-care & fast drying.
