Nordica Astral 84 2018 Ski Review

An easy to use ski that is smooth and versatile, the Nordica Astral 84 will be a definite hit on the mountains this winter season.

Part of the new Astral range from Nordica, the 84 is marketed as ‘the most versatile’. While it is indeed very at home on all types of terrain, it doesn’t quite have the same spark of versatility that some of the other all mountain skis we tried out demonstrated.

The Astral 84 is well at home on the piste, holding an edge well and carving superbly over the groomers. It feels very stable underfoot and allows you to really enjoy the experience.

However, it doesn’t quite transfer this off-piste. While the rocker allows it to float through powder, the manoeuvrability is not quite there to really give you the confidence you need off piste.

While this ski will be more than adequate for an intermediate skier looking for something stylish to get them round the mountain, it won’t quite do the job for an adventurous advanced skier looking for a hard charing all mountain friend.

Nordica Astral 84 2018 Ski Review

In terms of advanced all mountain skis, we feel that there are better options on the market at this price point and style than the Nordica Astral 84.
