Montane – the British outdoor gear brand – has created the Primino Base Layer range. Using the latest technology currently on the market, the Primino range has been designed to offer the ultimate in comfort and fast drying abilities.
What’s more, it uses cutting edge odour management technology thanks to Polygiene. These are hard working base layers!
The new Primino range comprises gloves, tops, boxers and long johns and uses merino and 25% per cent synthetic PrimaLoft insulation so are warm and fast drying. To combat the problem of body odour Montane turned to Polygiene and its Odor Control Technology for a solution. Polygiene is applied to the fabric during the finishing stages of the base layers and is a permanent treatment so won’t wash out and doesn’t need reapplying. But, how exactly does it work?
The silver salt (silver chloride – which is naturally present in water and soil) in Polygiene inhibits the growth of odour-causing bacteria. Odour usually develops when bacteria settles into fabric, mixes with sweat and multiplies and quite simply causes nasty niffs. Polygiene stops this from happening.
Polygiene treatment also helps to prolong the lifetime of garments as it guards against fabric-deteriorating mould fungus and bacteria.
Other benefits of using Polygiene treated gear, such as Montane’s Primino base layers include:
- Wash less/reduce energy consumption – garments can be used several times without needing to be washed. Saving on energy, water, detergent and time.
