British outdoor performance specialist, Montane, who have been engineering innovative, lightweight, breathable clothing, and equipment of uncompromised quality for almost thirty years now, have unveiled their Autuimn-Wiunter 2024 collection.

As usual it’s all brilliantly designed for multi-activity adventures including all mountain activities and offers protection in the most extreme environments and all at in an affordable price bracket.

We tested their Montane Men’s Nordes Hooded Softshell Jacket (£275) complete with hybrid GORE-TEX WINDSTOPPER ePE softshell for all-day protection.

We found it a great choice particularly when we wanted to ski hard all day, with its Granite Stretch  softshell panels at the back helping it make a snug, but not too tight fit for minimal wind resistance whilst the exceptionally breathable material kept us warm in the cold morning air whilst also stopped us from overheating ion full freeriding flow in the afternoons. Even the hood fitted snugly around face and helmet without the frequent problem of it becoming too tight and restrictive.

It’s good the know that the Nordes Hoodie uses 100% recycled GORE-TEX WINDSTOPPER ePE at the front, for that highly breathable, windproof protection we experienced on the test and that it’s  coated with a fluorocarbon-free DWR to shed moisture during a full day on the slopes.

Style-wise the jacket looks cool too and like all of Montane’s new range, features a clean, timeless design aesthetic with only necessary design elements that remain relevant.

“The AW24 collection is built to push the limits with fewer distractions so that we can immerse ourselves in the nature around us. Taking inspiration from the outdoor spaces where we test our products, we have developed a range that will endure and that sync with the wearer for guaranteed shelter,” Montane’s Marketing Director, Matthew Hickman told us.
