Line Pescado 2018 Ski Review

Designed by Eric Pollard, the Line Pescado is an absolutely fantastic powder ski that will change your game in those deep snow days this winter.

In the powder conditions we had, it floats like no other ski does, with a very early rise profile that allows for maximum bouyancy with no effort required.

The Pescado is designed to ‘mimic the flowy feel of a surfboad’ and Line have definitely succeeded in this respect. The ski is silky smooth, with great stability, really keeping you feeling in control, even in the deepest snow. It turns well, with good manoeuvrability thanks to a soft tip and light construction.

This is a ski that is incredibly fun in powder and allows you to enjoy it in a way that others try but mostly fail to replicate.

The Line Pescado makes powder skiing very easy, meaning that you don’t have to concentrate on keeping yourself upright. You can simply enjoy the freshest snow to its utmost while knowing you have the best partner possible underfoot.

This ski is obviously a show piece and is a ski that will be brought out very rarely. Just as with most other most extremely impressive powder skis, it’s not great on piste. This is unsurprising – the entire design of the ski is focused towards powder and is not quite conducive to general day to day piste skiing. On piste, the wide 125mm waist, swallow tail and heavy rocker make the Pescado feel slightly clumsy, heavy and difficult to manoeuvre. It comes across as a completely different ski to the light, fun, agile ski it is in powder!

Line Pescado 2018 Ski Review

However, if you are looking for that incredibly buoyant powder ski to unleash every now and then when the snow is at its best, the Line Pescado is a great choice. Whether you are looking for your first powder ski, or simply need a new powder option that’s a step ahead of the rest of the game, the Line Pescado could be the ski for you.
