K2 Poacher 2018 Ski Review

The K2 Poacher is a great ski. Nimble, lively and with just the right amount of power, it is sure to be a popular choice for the advanced to expert skiers this season.

A lightweight ski with carbon reinforcement, the K2 Poacher is a lot of fun in the park. Solid stability keeps you confident in your landings, while the high energy levels this ski produces give you that extra pop you need going into tricks.

However, while the K2 Poacher is nice and playful, it’s also so versatile that its performance in the park was not significantly more impressive than its performance elsewhere. If anything, we would consider this an all mountain twin tip rather than a park and pipe ski.

Tip and tail rockers keep a good float off piste, and the classic camber means that you can easily transition onto the piste, flying down groomed runs with as much style as anyone on a piste specific ski. Stable and smooth, the Poacher has a good grip on the hardpack which keeps you having fun down the whole mountain.

K2 Poacher 2018 Ski Review

The K2 Poacher holds an edge well and turns easily at slow speeds. Even at faster speeds it keeps this good hold, but when you significantly up the pace it starts to wobble a tiny bit. This isn’t to take away from the positives of the Poacher though – if you can control this slight wobble, this ski will give you a lot that is well worth sticking around for!

This ski would be good for an expert skier after a fun, all mountain ski that will give them a consistent, dynamic, adventurous ride this winter.
