Our K2 Ikonic 84 & 84 Ti 2019 Ski Review comes from the SIGB Ski Test in Galtür, Austria.
With a 16m turn radius, the ski sits between a slalom and a giant slalom ski and at 84mm underfoot, the K2 Ikonic 84 gives good float over powder and through the off piste. However, these skis are definitely in their element charging hard and cruising down the groomed runs. In terms of piste performance, the K2 Ikonic is definitely a high quality piece of kit.
The K2 Ikonic 84 and 84 Ti may look similar, but they are quite different skis. As you may have guessed, the 84 Ti has the addition of Titanium running through the ski. This titanium topsheet keeps it stiffer and gives it an extra power which is great for more aggressive, punchy skiers. The 84 Ti has also got a shock absorber and dampener within the binding, which keeps it stable and smooth even at high speeds.
If you’re a powerful skier with strong legs who really wants to make the most of the mountain across maybe four or five trips a year, the K2 Ikonic 84 Ti may be the ski for you.
However, if you fancy something a bit more forgiving, which is a little easier underfoot, the 84 is a very solid choice. While yes, it is lighter and gentler than the 84 Ti, it is still a very high performing piste ski that will give you a good time both on and off piste.
