The sister of the popular K2 Konic 78Ti, the K2 iKonic 80 2018 is a reliable, versatile ski that loves the pistes and will be a great fit for less aggressive advanced skiers on the slopes this season.

There are two versions of the K2 iKonic 80 out there – one with a titanal top sheet and one without. This is the latter option. It has a softer feel without the Titanal but lacks the kick, grip and impressive precision feel you get from the 80Ti. However, it is much more lightweight and forgiving, allowing it to be slightly more nimble on the piste.

The K2 iKonic 80 is a good ski for carving long turns down groomed runs or popping short turns through tougher snow.

Without the Titanal layer, you would think this ski might lack stability, but K2’s Konic Technology Firaspen Core ensures that you feel solid and well supported underfoot. An all terrain rocker also keeps it very versatile so if you do feel like hopping off the piste, you can do so with confidence and conviction. Agile and forgiving, with good edge hold, the K2 iKonik 80 is a lovely ski that would suit a less aggressive advanced skier well.

K2 Ikonic 80 2018 Ski Review

Indeed, this is a good resort ski if you just want to cruise, but we would highly recommend that if you would prefer a ski on which to charge, you look at the 80Ti. The Ti still cruises well, but when you push it even just a little you’ll be rewarded with more edge grip and more stability. If you are an agressive skier that wants to push yourself on the slopes, the Ti will be a better option.

Meanwhile, the K2 iKonik 80 would be a good choice for someone who likes to relax with their skiing, sticking to the pistes and simply enjoying the ride.
