With 2018 bringing five Olympic golds, seven Crystal Globes and both overall world cup wins two years running, Atomic definitely know their stuff when it comes to creating and maintaining skis. So, at the 2018 SIGB Ski Test we took the opportunity to visit the Atomic stand to really learn the ins and the outs of how to tune a ski.
From edge work to waxing, Atomic take us through how to keep your skis in prime condition in order to get the best possible performance out of them.
Whether you’re a racer or a holidaymaker, keeping your skis in good condition is hugely important. While you can pay professionals to tune your skis for you, it’s a very good idea to learn a little about the process for yourself, whether you will be tuning your own ski or not. It’s beneficial to know why and how you should be keeping your edges sharp and your bases smooth because it teaches you a lot about the construction of the ski.
