This is our Head V-Shape V4 2019 Ski Review. A new range for the coming season, the Head V-Shape are an all mountain series, brought in to replace the Instinct range from last season.

The V4 is the second in the series, which consists of the V2, V4, V6, V8 and V10. As the numbers rise, as does the waist width and the price bracket. The V4 is one of the cheaper and easier riding options of the range, which will be much more suited to entry level to intermediate skiers than hard-charging experts.

It turns really nicely and inspires a lot of confidence underfoot. While it’s not a dedicated off piste freeride ski, it has more than enough underfoot for you to feel comfortable hopping off the edge of the piste. It tackles bumps and crud well, with enough power and agility to help you on your way. However, it’s most at home on the piste, where it gives a great, easy ride. While it’s stable at speed, it’s definitely more comfortable at lower speeds, making it a better choice for those that may be less focused on pace and more interested in refining their technique in a more relaxed fashion.

For the price point, it’s a great choice for intermediate skiers who want a dependable ski on which to develop their skills.
