This is InTheSnow’s Faction Prime 3.0 2019 Ski Review from the SIGB Ski Test in Galtür, Austria. This is a fantastic ski that can handle itself well on piste, but really comes into its own off piste.
For expert freeride skiers, the Faction Prime 3.0 2019 is definitely a ski you want in your arsenal. With a tip and tail rocker and 108mm waist, this is the perfect ski for those epic powder days. It’s very light weight thanks to a Swiss developed Balsa Flax Hybrid Core and full layers of Textreme Carbon, giving it beautiful glide across powder. Plus, this lightweight nature also means that you could easily strap on a pair of skins and enhance the adventure.
While it tends to favour open, wider turns, through tree runs, moguls and variable terrain, it still performs very nicely. It’s agile, predictable and (most importantly) fun, meaning you can really make the most of the whole mountain.
However, this light weight does not mean that Faction have compromised on strength. You really feel supported on this ski, no matter the conditions. It gives a smooth, powerful ride that keeps you feeling confident and stable across terrains.
It’s a great ski for advanced to intermediate skiers who want a ski that will support them no matter where they are on the mountain and give them the confidence to really let it rip.
