The new CHIPS system from Outdoor Tech is an ingenious (and superb) way of bringing sound in to your helmet wirelessly.
The CHIPS are a pair of small round plastic speaker, about 3cm across and 5mm deep which you pop in to the ear flaps on your helmet (if you’ve already got a helmet, check your ear flaps have a slot to drop them in to, if you don’t have a helmet, make sure the one you buy has the flaps! – the technical term is ‘an audio enabled liner’ apparently).
The CHIPS sync via Bluetooth to any enabled device and as well as receiving crystal clear sound, they can also be used for listening to phone calls.
Retail price is £99.99 – remember to use sound when skiing or boarding responsibly.
