Cab9 are a new brand making quality sunglasses at much lower prices than you’d expect -just £24 (€30) in fact!
Born on the slopes of Méribel earlier this very year, the brainchild of a collective of snowboard instructors, Cab9 sunglasses are designed to be worn everywhere from the tough conditions of the mountains to surfing or simply chilling at the beach.
Cab9’s polarised lenses (which means they block glare reflected off surfaces such as snow and water) rival those of premium brands, the company says, and Cab9 lenses provide 100% full-spectrum UV protection, including UVA, UVB and UV400 wavelengths.
In addition the sunnies are built with tough corrosion-proof hinges (unlike the plastic hinges used by many similarly priced brands).
The frames are lightweight and comfortable yet robust enough to take a few knocks. However the company are offering a ‘bulletproof guarantee’ to repair or replace if buyers do have any problems during normal use.
Over the years the boarding instructors behind the new brand have put countless different brands and models to the test in all conditions imaginable so they really know what works and, just as importantly, what doesn’t.
Another important aspect of the Cab9 ethos is that sunglasses should look good and make you feel great, so the team based the design for their first model on the classic Wayfarer Style that suits almost any face shape, and comes in a range of colour combinations. Several models feature a soft rubber finish, providing superior comfort and additional grip for active use.
