Finding a helmet that can work for more than just one activity has always been a bit of a challenge, but Bern’s Macon 2.0 ticks all the boxes for biking or skating just as it does for skiing or boarding.
The company’s core product, the Macon 2.0 has recently undergone a redesign with a lighter, sleeker and safer design.
There’s also improved tech including the introduction of industry-leading MIPS technology. Short for “Multi-directional Impact Protection System (MIPS) equips the Macon with an intelligent, multi-layered liner system that allows for the foam liner to slightly rotate independent from your head and ultimately minimise the amount of rotational force that may be transferred to the brain if your head ends up hitting something solid.
This technology is combined with an ABS shell lined with EPS Foam to create a low profile, lightweight lid that meets certifications for both bike and snow.
The Macon also features an easy adjustable strap divider and an EZ-Fit system which auto-adjusts every time you put it on. This system utilises an elastic system to keep the fit snug and secure every time you wear the helmet. The EPS liner is ribbed for more coverage and better protection and is super lightweight too.
All over venting helps keep you cool in summer or winter skate sessions, long cycle rides or laps through the park. The helmet liner can be removed, meaning you can easily wash it to keep your helmet fresh. You can also replace the liner with the summer pad kit (included) and remove the ear pads when you want to use the helmet in warmer conditions.
