The Atomic Vantage X80 CTI 2018 is a stiff, lightweight and durable all mountain ski that provides great performance on piste.

This ski boasts a lot fancy new technology, including a high tech wood core boosted with a titanium backbone that ensures uncompromising rigidity underfoot while keeping the ski light.

good edge hold on piste makes the Vantage X80 CTI really fun to ski on the groomers. Its 80mm waist means that it carves very nicely at speed, transferring from edge to edge easily and smoothly. It has great edge grip whether it’s in short or longer turns and the agile feel of this ski allows you to adapt to the terrain in front of you. It brings a lively energy on piste that it slightly lacks off piste, but it is still more than adequate to get you across the powder and through the crud.

However, at slower speeds this ski is hard work. The Atomic Vantage X80 CTI often feels heavy, possibly as a result of its numerous reinforcements.

We felt this resulted in a disconnection between tip and tail; it was soft and wanted to slide but the tail was very stiff. The reason for this may lie in the Carbon Tank mesh reinforcements along the length of the ski that increase its rigidity.

Atomic Vantage X80 CTI 2018 Ski Review

While some people believe this stiffness brings with it stability, accuracy and control, we found that with this ski, it meant that it was quite a struggle to keep the ski stable unless you’re leaning right over the front of it.

The Atomic Vantage X80 CTI is a very durable ski that allows power and agility across all areas of the mountain. It will really help you progress, whatever ability level you are now and where you aspire to be. We found that occasionally all of its many impressive features struggle to blend well together, but all in all it is a it is a good ski for someone looking for a reliable all mountain ski at a decent price.
