We all know how important it is to stay hydrated on the slopes. Unfortunately, you’re probably not drinking enough – water – while skiing.

Cold temperatures and altitude inhibit the desire to drink and some of us abstain from drinking to avoid losing precious minutes queuing at the loo.

Or you just can’t be bothered to carry a backpack, too bulky. But dehydration can diminish performance, including the number of runs you can ski. This is exactly where the new 686’s Hydrastash Jacket would come in handy.

How? By featuring a built-in hydration pack in the powderskirt of the jacket. With a hose running parallel to the front zipper up to the collar of the jacket, where the feeder tube sits. Allowing you to ski completely backpack-free. The new hydration system is integrated in such a way in the jacket’ design that you can’t notice it. The sytem is also easily removable. According to the 686 team, the reservoir material is so strong it can withstand the weight of a car, to prevent it from bursting when falling.

Comfortable to carry and low bulk the jacket itself features everything you’d expect out of a good board jacket. So next time you’re hitting the slopes, ditch the backpack, leave the bottles at home and stay hydrated with the 686 HydraStash Jacket.

The jacket will be available for the 2018/19 season for both men and women.
