A new way to slide – Bobskis (www.bobskis.com) are being presented as a reinvention of sledging for the 21st century. Influenced by bobsleighs, snowboards and skis, Bobskis are a new high performance take on the sledge. They’re fast, flexible, easy to steer and great for stunts, and are even light enough to take in a ski bag on your next skiing or boarding trip.
The unique unibody design is made of Polarpol, a special lightweight plastic with extreme performance in freezing conditions. This durable sledge is a high-spec product, built to last, with attention paid to those details that make all the difference: soft leading-edge and rounded corners, thick soft rope, stickers tested on North Sea oil drums.
Designed and produced in Britain, the Bobskis idea came about when designer Keith Handy and co-founder Elly Reeve wanted a sledge that worked in even the most challenging conditions. “Living in Central England we don’t ordinarily see much snow and our boys were always keen to get out and play at the slightest sprinkling. Inspired by bobsleighs, snowboards and skis, we wanted a practical design that would work on minimal snow coverage and gentle slopes” says Reeve.
Thrill-seekers will be impressed with the speed and agility of Bobskis, which also work well on gentle slopes and don’t require a lot of snow – making them ideal to have ready for a typical UK winter.
