The Freeze Big Air event billed as Britain’s biggest ever ski competition has been postponed at short notice and without explanation, according to a statement on its website.
The event, which was to be an FIS sanctioned World Cup event and feature a concert by Niles Rodgers and Chic had been scheduled to take place on Saturday 14th November 2015.
“The intention now is for Freeze Big Air to take place during early 2016 at Queen Elizabeth Olympic Park in London,” the statement reads.
“We will be working with the International Ski Federation (FIS) and Queen Elizabeth Olympic Park to find a date that better fits with athlete schedules and the wider competitive calendar, and that will ultimately enable us to deliver a bigger and better event. More news and a revised date will follow shortly.”
All original tickets will still be valid and transferable to the new date, but any original ticket holders wishing to claim a refund can call or email a contact given on the site and will be processed within seven days.
The announcement has brought some angry comments on social media with people posting that they had bought non-refundable hotel stays and flights tickets to London for the event.
