Great conditions in France after a snowy first half of December.
It’s been less snowy over the past week but bases have built, temperatures have stayed low, and conditions are generally great.
It has kept snowing at some resorts, Val Thorens got more snow and la Rosiere was really dumped on at the start of the week. Most resorts with slopes up above 2500m have at least 2 metres of snow lying up top now, and bases are growing down in the valleys too.
In short it’s the best start to the season for at least four winters, and some are now saying it’s the best this century so far.
Here’s how it’s looking in Morzine:

This snow report just in from Elevation Alps in Morzine has got us just itching to get out on those slopes ❄

La Plagne, Flaine and Val Thorens are posting the deepest bases at 240-250cm.
Freeriders however must beware that the avalanche danger remains very high in most areas.
