It just won’t seem to stop snowing in France. It’s not just the light fluffy stuff either but real heavy snowfall, sometimes accompanied by strong winds, and it’s coming up to a month of full on winter.
The result? Well great snow depths and potentially great snow conditions across the country but unfortunately all the snow also means high avalanche danger and even going outdoors at some resorts can be risky at times with snow falling from rooves. Driving can be difficult and treacherous to and from resorts too, the use of chains is often mandatory. Val Thorens is pictured above.
Theres a whole lot of neigeing going on! #snow #snowreport #Chamonixsnowreport

So, as we write this report a lot of French ski slopes are closed due to too much snowfall and the forecast is for much, much more over the weekend.
Hopefully things will begin to get easier in to next week and more terrain will be able to open.
The forecast for the rest of the season, if it stops snowing, is looking great as there’s so much snow!
