After the success of last winter’s holidays, Eddie the Eagle will be joining SkiWeekends holidays in two destinations during January so that anyone booking a trip can ski and hang out with Eddie. £25 per person from every booking with Eddie will be donated to the charity Ski 4 Cancer.
“Eddie stayed with us for the first time last winter in Courchevel and guests absolutely loved spending time with him. This time we are also giving our guests in Avoriaz this opportunity as well,” said SkiWeekends Managing Director, Dan Fox, pictured below with Eddie.
“He happens to be a fantastic skier but just enjoys spending time with people on the slopes. Our partner charity Ski 4 Cancer will receive £25 from anyone that books into those chalets on any of the special Eddie dates – it’s a charity close to our hearts that Eddie is also a patron of too.”
The holidays are being offered in two of Ski Weekends’ chalets – Monique in Courchevel and the new Violetta in Avoriaz. Guests have the chance to ski with Eddie during his stay and watch the Hollywood movie of his life after an evening meal in the chalet. It follows a stay last year in Courchevel, with the new resort of Avoriaz added for January 2020.
Ski 4 Cancer was set up by a group of keen skiers and snowboarders who have all lost a close relative or friend to cancer. By providing a range of alpine respite holidays for families living with cancer, Ski 4 Cancer gives families something to look forward to at the end of treatment schedules or after a loved one has died.
“I had a great time with SkiWeekends last winter and even felt like I was on a proper ski holiday, it’s just not something that I normally get the chance to do. This season I also get to stay in Avoriaz too, I’m really looking forward to it,” said Eddie “the Eagle” Edwards.
