US Presidential nominee Donald Trump ’s many talents include, it seems, skiing.
A 2010 report in the New York magazine by Jonathan Van Meter quoted two of Trump’s children on his approach to a family day on the slopes.
“He would try to push me over, just so he could beat his 10-year-old son down the mountain,” his son Eric told Van Meter, laughing.
“We were sort of bred to be competitive,” says Ivanka. “Dad encourages it. I remember skiing with him and we were racing. I was ahead, and he reached his ski pole out and pulled me back.”
A ski run named Trump exists at Deer valley resort by Park City in Utah. However the name has nothing to do with Donald, the resort is exceptionally keen to point out, saying it refers to the name of a historic mining claim in the area instead.
This did not stop someone sticking a ‘Bernie Sanders 2016’ sticker on the piste sign.
In The Snow’s Editor who skied the run last Easter was at his most critical when he described it as, “short-lived, falling fairly flat and totally uninspiring.”
