Crystal are adding a new resort in the Italian Dolomites for next winter.
Drei Zinnen, which is German for “Three Peaks” and also known in Italian as the “Tre Cime di Lavaredo” is situated in the East of South Tyrol, to the north of Cortina and Venice.
It is a high valley in the Italian Dolomites UNESCO World Heritage park. The Three Peaks are among the most famous peaks in the Alpine region and constitute a major part of Alpine history.
The region has 100km of slopes and a strong family-friendly reputation. It is also one of Italy’s leading cross country ski destinations with 200km of groomed tracks.
The local ski area can be more than doubled by a direct rail connection, first inaugurated in 2014, with a station connected to the bottom of the Monte Elmo cable car station in the 3 Peaks which connects to the neighbouring ski area San Candido and Val Pusteria every 30 minutes. The entire region is also part of the huge Dolomiti Superski pass with its 1200km of piste.
The area has five main resort villages, known by both Italian and German names in this bi-lingual region: Sesto (Sexten), San Candido (Innichen), Dobbiaco (Toblach), Villabassa (Niederdorf) and Braies (Prags). Most of Crystal’s accommodation is in San Candido.
The resort can be accessed with Crystal Holidays from Birmingham, Bristol, Edinburgh, London Gatwick and Manchester airports.
Chris Logan, Managing Director at Crystal Ski Holidays said:
“Our winter 2019/20 ski holidays are now on sale and we are already counting down the days to the slopes reopening. We have already announced new flight routes, new childcare clubs, a new resort and a revamped chalet product, so we are really looking forward to next season.”
