We got used to working from home in the pandemic and those who rely on public transport are often having to work at home again this year too.
But could you move your job to the Alps for a ‘workcation’? Well, you’ll need the budget to be able to do so of course, but ski resorts have seen a growth in remote workers basing themselves on the slopes and are actively trying to attract them.
The biggest ski accommodation group in Europe, Pierre & Vacances, are currently offering nearly a third off a four week stay in the Alps, assuming you book before 30th September and time your stay to coincide with the low-season period between New Year and the February school holidays – 7 January to 4 February 2023.
On the upside that’s the very period when the slopes are quiet, the snow usually great and you’d be paying a small fortune to heat your home office back in the UK.
Pierre & Vacances say that their long-stay holidays combine convenient self-catering accommodation in beautiful locations across the Alps, with all essential, reliable, free WiFi, plus a discount on mobile WiFi, so even logging in from the chairlift is a possibility.
An example 28-night self-catered stay, in a one-bedroom apartment with balcony at the four-star Residence Atria-Crozats in Avoriaz 1800 in the Crozats district costs from £3,628 (was £5,183, saving £1,555 / 30%). The 30% off offer is also valid at selected Pierre & Vacances properties in Les Arcs including Arc 1950, Tignes, Flaine, Méribel, Chamonix, Les Menuires and Les Carroz-d’Arâches.
