Snowboard legend Chloe Kim proved once more she is the queen of the half-pipe in Laax at the weekend with her fifth title on the acclaimed Swiss slopes.
2025 has kicked off with a much-anticipated return to the famed LAAX Open, with Chloe Kim’s fans treated to a display of creativity and skill from the Californian rider.
After landing a historic double-cork 1080, the Chloe secured a 96.50 on her first run, soaring straight to the top of the podium.
This marks Chloe Kim’s fifth win in Laax, her first being in 2017, at the age of seventeen, a few weeks before rising to international fame by winning half-pipe gold in Pyeongchang. Following her first LAAX win, Chloe would return for another three victorious runs in 2019, 2021, and 2022 before taking her fifth over the weekend. With this win, the double-olympic medallist proves she is still as passionate about her craft as ever, beaming at the end of her run and chanting the praises of “riding for fun”.
Unlike most of the other athletes at Laax, Chloe soared high in the Swiss mountains in a full outfit from her own signature ROXY Collection, featuring the Chloe Kim Snow Jacket, Chloe Kim Snow Pants and Chloe Kim Mittens, all in a Lily Pad shade.
The highly functional range has been created by Chloe Kim in partnership with ROXY, the first exclusively-female global action sports brand, which specialises in the development and design of trend-leading, technically innovative lifestyle and performance wear inspired by the mountain.
Chloe Kim has ensured that as well as being suitable for competition at the highest level for her own needs, her range iks also practical and affordable for every other woman on the slopes. It’s available to purchase on the ROXY website and in select stores worldwide.
Chloe’s next stop is her upcoming return to the X Games from tomorrow, 23-25th January in Aspen, Colorado, where she has previously won seven golds.
Still aged just 24, at the 2018 Winter Olympics Chloe Kim became the youngest woman to win an Olympic snowboarding gold medal, taking gold in the women’s snowboard halfpipe at 17 years old. At the 2022 Beijing Winter Olympics, she became the first woman to win two gold medals in halfpipe. She is the World, Olympic, Youth Olympic, and X Games champion in the halfpipe and the first to win the title at all four major events.
Chloe has had just as much success off the mountain as she has had on it, being featured on Forbes 30 under 30 list, and TIME’s 100 list, as well as TIME’s 30 Most Influential Teens list 3 years in a row. She has been on the cover of Sports Illustrated, Sports Illustrated Kids, and ESPN Magazine. Additionally, Chloe has taken home four ESPY Awards, two Nickelodeon Kids Choice Sports Awards, and three Laureus World Sports Awards; a list of impressive accolades that landed her a fitting cameo in last year’s remake of Charlie’s Angels.
