The main ski season accelerates fast each winter with 95% of ski areas opening over the first three weekends of December, right before two of the busiest and most expensive weeks of the season – the current Christmas week then next week’s New Year.
But once this fortnight is behind is prices traditionally plummet for the first full week of January as the crowds disappear and resorts struggle to maintain business momentum. For skiers prepared to delay or just priced out by high peak-week costs, there are big benefits – easier travel, quieter slopes and seats to be found in mountain restaurants besides prices that can be half those of the week before for essentially the same holiday.
Your chances of good snow conditions are higher too. Last year the period of poor snow at low elevations ended just as the New Year holidays did and second week skiers hit the jackpot as abundant fresh snowfall arrived, this winter its already looking much better as it is.

First Full Week of 2024 Deals

Single Chalet Rooms in Morzine
