Chamonix’s ski area is almost completely open with 111 of 115 runs groomed and open and 67 of 68 lifts operational through the valley.
It has been sunny over the Christmas period but now the snow is back and the weather is expected to stay unsettled through the rest of this week with significant fresh snowfall building the existing 60-120cm base.
Temperatures vary between 0 at resort level to -13C at Grand Montets where visibility is also reported to be currently bad and the avalanche risk moderate at 3 of 5.
