Chamonix Snow Report and Forecast 11 March 2018

It has been a mixture of sunshine and (light) snow showers in Chamonix over the past few days, with some glorious snow conditions at times, as illustrated in the video below from a few days ago.

Snow depths remain excellent, the fresh snow has kept it in tip top shape, pretty well every run is open and every lift operating.

The main thing to be wary of is the high off-piste avalanche danger, with several avalanches seen in recent days.

Heavier snow is expected at the start of this week with perhaps 30cm of fresh snow by mid-week, after which sunny weather is expected to return.
