Chamonix, like most of the rest of the Alps, has had a snowy week and there’s more snow in the forecast this week too.
We may be past Easter and in to April, but Mother Nature is not really showing any signs of letting winter loosen its grip after the remarkably snowy ski season to date.
Almost all runs (107 of 113) are open and almost all lifts operating with the Chamonix ski season continuing right through April, but off piste the avalanche danger is very high at level 4 on the scale – one below the maximum 5.
