This year’s The Daily Telegraph British Ski and Board Show is shaping up to be the UK’s most interactive winter sports show, when it returns to Birmingham’s NEC from 28–30 October.
The organisers promise they’ll be something for everyone, from complete beginners to seasoned pro. If taking to the snow for the first time, or just looking to finely tune that parallel turn, then for the first time the indoor Skills Slope will give an ideal opportunity to gain expert tuition from skilled instructors.
You can also check out the latest fashions at the biggest ski shopping area, enabling the visitor to gain expert advice before purchasing the latest clothing, equipment and gadgets. It also provides a one-stop shop for those looking to book a winter break, by offering hotel, self-catering, chalet and resort information. There’s plenty of expert advice on offer in the form of the Talk Theatre, and food is in abundance with cuisine from around the world on offer.
If you want to see a great show then the Big Air Freestyle Show will have spectators transfixed, as the team perform some amazing tricks and jumps, during what will be their only UK performance during 2011. The adrenalin-fuelled Adventure Winter Film Festival will also keep visitors entertained. If you want to know how to enjoy the slopes in the summer, once the snow has gone, look no further than the Animal Bike Tour, new for 2011, where the UK’s top mountain bike stars will be showcasing their awesome skills.
The British Ski and Board Show is open from midday until 8pm on Friday, and 10am until 6pm on Saturday and Sunday, with the best admission price available on Slope Off Friday at an advance purchase adult ticket price of £6.50 (£7.00 on the door) and £2.50 per child. Saturday and Sunday prices are £10 in advance, £12 on the door, all via www.britishskiandboardshow.co.uk, or by telephoning the booking line on 0844 581 0734.
