Great Britain’s Charlotte Bankes has moved one step closer to retaining her Snowboardcross World Cup crystal globe with her sixth successive win in the first of two competitions being staged at Mont Sainte Anne, Quebec, Canada.

The premiere on the one kilometre long and challenging course was a huge success with a blue sky on Saturday, with Bankes’ win also the 15th of her career.

The latest win leaves Charlotte Bankes with 678 points at the top of the leader board with France’s Chloe Trespeuch on 590 points, who was second on Saturday and is now the only woman who could potentially catch Bankes.
