After 10 years of the ‘Fête de la Glisse’ being the opening weekend celebration, Avoriaz in France launches the Rock On Ultimate on 12,13 and 14th December to get the season started and, they hope, build on the 30,000 people who attended in previous years.
Described as a ‘unique rock + ski concept’ the car-free resort has secured global snowboarding superstar Shaun White to perform with his band at this year’s debut festival which also promises a test village for trying out the latest gear, free concerts in the resort centre, a giant Happy Hour, live music in the evenings in the bars, an open-air Electro Club and much more.
After the €12M spend on the new Prodains Express 3S cable car linking Morzine earlier this year, visitors will find two new high-speed six-seater chairlifts waiting for them this winter.
The Seraussaix chairlift with a capacity of 2,700 skiers/hour will improve capacity to skiing in the Super Morzine sector and the Proclou chairlift with a capacity of 3,200 skiers/hour will improve skier flow to the recently opened Pierre et Vacances five star district in the resort.
