Conditions are excellent across Austria.
There are sunny skies across most of the country and as the avalanche danger has reduced, most ski areas have all, or almost all runs open and lift operating.
If there’s anything to note against these near perfect conditions, the only hiccup has been rather warmer-than-perfect temperatures down in the valleys and on lower slopes over the past few days, peaking at just about 10C.
But the trend on temperatures is downwards and after a few more sunny days, more snow is expected from midweek, interspersed with more sunshine. So far, this time the snowfalls are not expected to be huge, but should freshen up cover nicely.
Base depths are good across Austria, with several of the glaciers now reporting 5.5m (over 18 feet) of snow lying.
