A British ski tour operator is offering skiers and boarders the chance to save 10% on their ski holiday cost, so long as they arrive in resort from home by rail.
Mountain Heaven is offering their “eco-discount” for all catered chalet holidays bookings.
“Climate change is a growing issue for the whole planet and the ski industry is especially close to this issue in several ways. There’s no doubt that climate change is at work in our mountains already and we just don’t know where it’s all going to lead,” said Nick Williams, owner of Mountain Heaven, who continued, “There are some things a ski company can do to reduce the environmental impact of ski holidays but it’s actually air travel that tends to have the biggest impact. No matter what other offer we are running, our customers will now get a 10% discount off the price of their Mountain Heaven catered chalet holiday if they travel to us by train.”
Mountain Heaven offer catered chalets with transfers included to some of the best resorts in France getting to them by train from the U.K is usually easier than many skiers realise, and often much less stressful than air travel, as well as being better for the planet.
The company offers chalet holidays in Morzine, La Plagne, Courchevel Le Praz and La Rosiere and rail packages including transfers from and back to the nearest station to the resort as part of the holiday.
Mountain Heaven say that the offer is available indefinitely and that there are no plans for it to end.
